Two Sunday’s ago I woke up with an awful pain on my toe. It felt like it was broken, but I knew it wasn’t. I called a podiatrist on Monday, Tuesday went on antibiotics for whatever infection happened. A week later I go back, husband in tote because I knew the doctor wasn’t going to be impressed with the progress the meds made. He removed my toenail yesterday. I’m a baby when it comes to things like that, and my anxiety kicked in overload, so I was covered in sweat when it didn’t hurt… It hurt once, but he immediately stopped and gave me two more shots and numbed me up good. So now I’m stuck inside limping around or laying on the couch with my leg 10 feet in the air… I’m not a back sleeper but clearly have no choice as I have to keep my toe elevated.
I refuse to shower (ugh) because i can’t handle the thought of soap hitting my toe and keeping it covered is more painful than having it uncovered. So we’ll see how that goes today. I call tomorrow to see if the infection is staph or something else. No idea where it came from or how it happened, but I jut want my toe back to somewhat normal so I can function, somewhat normally!
